"The Inside Story"
- “I used to be the Great and Terrible Oz! I was the ruler of an entire nation. What had happened? . . . One day I was approached by a man who offered me something more. He promised me that there would come a day when the city would need a leader to rule both Everafter and human alike. So I signed up to be a member of the Scarlet Hand.”
- ~ Oz, from Once Upon a Crime
The Wizard of Oz, commonly known as Oz, is the "wizard" famous for his role in L. Frank Baum's stories. In the Sisters Grimm series, he gives his full name as Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs. He works in Macy's Department Store in New York City as the technical displays administrator - this is only his human disguise, however, as he is actually the magical advisor of Faerie, being the resident wizard at the beck and call of Oberon.
Oz came to America on the New Beginning, along with the rest of the Everafters who were fleeing persecution by the humans. However, instead of settling in Ferryport Landing, Oz moved to the Faerie court in New York, establishing himself as Oberon's helper for over 20 years.
To be tidied up....
Although Oz no longer does real magic, he is brilliant with technology and creates amazing robots.
