Lewis Carroll is the better-known pen name of Lutwidge Dodgson, an English author and mathematician. He is remembered today for his books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. In The Sisters Grimm, he is implied to be an Everafter historian like the Brothers Grimm

History[]

Lewis Carroll was primarily interested in mathematics and wrote nearly a dozen books under his real name. His first literary work under a pen name was a poem titled "Solitude." In 1865 he befriended 11-year-old Alice Liddell and her siblings, for whom he made up nonsensical stories. In 1865 this was published as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. A sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, was published in 1871. Other well-known poems of his include "Jabberwocky," "The Walrus and the Carpenter," and "The Hunting of the Snark."

Role in the Books[]

Numerous characters from Carroll's various works appear in The Sisters Grimm. This implies that, like the Brothers Grimm before him, he was an Everafter historian who wrote down true events rather than making up fiction.
