Barto was a bodyguard hired by Puck to guard Sabrina and the rest of the Grimm Family after Mr. Canis was put in jail.
He was able to sniff out poison, so Puck put him on duty to check that the food the Grimms were eating wasn't poisoned. Sabrina tried to bribe him into saying that one of her grandmother's odd dishes was poisoned, so she wouldn't have to eat it, but he refused the offer.
